Withlocals wanted to create a buzz around their announcement on a successful round of series A funding, especially in business media. Withlocals targets travellers from all around the world, who are looking for a personalized travel experience. To further strengthen their position on the market, Withlocals was looking for an agency that could help them send out the press release in 5 different countries and pitch for interviews with their CEO and/or founder.
What we did
Together with a freelancer in the United States we set up a network with 4 PR-professionals in Europe, so they could help us localize the press release and send it out/pitch it to journalists in their own country. For The Netherlands, we looked for national, business and trade media that would go well with the message Withlocals wanted to spread and pitch for interviews. We also localised the press release and disseminated it to a wide range of relevant media.
The media attention and reach we received with our campaign resulted in 4 interviews with national and trade media, with a reach of 500.000+. We also arranged a radio interview on the number one business radio station in the Netherlands, BNR. The press release got picked up by over 25 publications, with a total reach of over 2,500,00+ readers.
